Yamagishi Masayoshi Vintage Creative Kokeshi – Hanamai (24.5cm/9.6 inches)

This beautiful kokeshi doll was made by Yamagishi Masayoshi. Her title is 花舞 (Hanamai) which means “Flower Dance” (or “Dancing Flowers”).
This term is used in Japanese Flower Arranagement (Ikebana) in which flowers are set together (usually 2 or 3) in a three dimensional space.

In addition to the flowers, both her hair and her 半襟 (haneri) which is the collar used under a normal kimono collar, are stunningly made.

In great condition with signs of age and use. Comes with the original box and wooden sign.
