Tall Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Yamanaka Sanpei (30cm/11.8 inches)

This kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Yamanaka Sanpei (1926-2012) who won over 20 awards for his kokeshi dolls including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. Sanpei’s inspiration for kokeshi doll designs often come from children.

This doll features an all-natural wood color and is made of 4 parts, each with slightly different wood grain. It has one small mark on the hair and another one under the head.

In good condition with signs of age and use.
