Vintage Creative Kokeshi Doll by Yuji Kawase (18cm/7 inches)

This vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by Master Yuji Kawase who was born Gunma prefecture in 1938. She’s made of beautiful keyaki (zelkova) wood in a warm tone and has gingko leaf pattern which symbolizes hope, strength, and resilience. The hairstyle of upper divisions sumo wrestlers is also shapes as gingko leaves.

In great condition with marks of age and use.
