Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Sekiguchi Toa (12cm/4.7 inches)

This chubby vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toa (1942-). She’s wearing a wearing a kimono decorated with red and pink plum flowers.

Master Sekiguchi Toa was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken. His brother, Toshio, also makes creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the Ministry of International Trade Industry Award in 1978. Since then he has won the Prime Minister’s Award, along with other respected awards.

In good condition with visible marks of age and use.
