Yuko Yamazaki Creative Kokeshi Doll – Secret Blossom (32.8cm/12.9 inches)

This adorable kokeshi doll was made and signed by the award winning artist Yuko Yamazaki (1956-). Her title is 秘花 (Hika) which can be translated to “Secret Blossom”, referring to a flower that blooms quietly in a remote, secluded place.

She’s wearing a beautiful light pink kimono with stunning Mountain Lilies painted on it. Her hair is carved on the front and wrapped on her back with a small cute orange hair tie.

Yuko Yamazaki was born in 1956 and learned the art of kokeshi dolls from master Yoshida Takashi. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with the original box and wooden sign.
