Miyashita Hajime Vintage Blue Kokeshi Doll (23cm/9 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll by master Miyashita Hajime (1940-) wearing a blue kimono with white flowers and a cute obi (kimono belt) tied on the back.

Miyashita Hajime is a multiple award winner master who was born in 1940. The current Japanese emperor and empress are fans of him and used to collect his dolls. In 2006 he retired after his kokeshi shop burnt down in a fire.

In good condition with signs of age and use. Comes with the original wooden sign.
