This wonderful creative kokeshi was made and signed by Watanabe Yuji who’s considered to be one of Japan’s leading kokeshi artists today. He was born in Shiroishi city, Miyagi prefecture in 1951 and has been creating amazing kokeshi dolls for over 50 years.

She is titled 白い椿 (Shiroi Tsubaki) which means “White Camellia”.
She’s made of beautiful pale mizuki (dogwood) and has stylish carved hair in uneven length. She’s decorated with a single white camellia flower which are often associated with purity and elegance in Japanese culture.

In good condition with visible marks on the back and back side of the hair. Please inspect the pictures carefully.
