Vintage Trio Kokeshi Doll Set by Kazuo Takamizawa (25-37cm/9.8-14.5 inches)

These lovely sisters trio kokeshi dolls were made by Kazuo Takamizawa. They are a prime example of his original style, before he started incorporating colors into his dolls. They are decorated with beautiful flowers which emphasize the natural wood pattern and warmth.

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In good condition with visible signs of age and use.
