Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Kazuo Takamizawa – Flower Field (19cm/7.4 inches)

Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll made by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). She’s titled 花野辺 (Hananobe) which means “Flower Field”. This title evokes imagery of a field or area that is abundant with flowers, suggesting a natural, serene, and beautiful place.

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
