Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Sekiguchi Toshio – Doujo (23cm/9 inches)

This exclusive vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toshio (1947-). She’s titled 童女 (Doujo) which means “Young Girl”. Her stunning kimono has white and red camellia flowers. Her hair is carefully and masterfully carved.

Master Sekiguchi Toshio was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken, and still lives and works there, all of whom also create creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the new comer award at the young age of 15.

In great condition. Comes together with the original wooden sign.
