Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll made by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). Her title is 道づれ (Michizure) which means “Fellow Traveler”. She’s wearing a pretty red kimono with beautiful camellia flowers carved on it.
Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.
In great condition. Comes with the original box.
