Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). Her title is 慕情 (Bojo) which means “Longing” or “Yearning”. She’s wearing a lovely black and natural wood color kimono with Takamizawa san’s signature motif – camellia flowers. Her obi is in black, yellow and pink and she also has a hair ornament.
Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.
In great condition with minor signs of age and use. Unsigned but comes in the original box.
