Aoki Ryoka Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Dawn (33cm/12.9 inches)

This vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by the multiple award winning female master Aoki Ryoka (1931-). Her title is 暁 (Akatsuki) which means “Dawn”. She’s beautifully painted with a scene of trees on an orange dawn sky background.

Aoki Ryoka was born in 1931 in Shikishima village, Gunma prefecture. She has won multiple awards for her beautiful kokeshi dolls including the prestigious prime minister award. She also received the Japanese Yellow Ribbon Medal of Honor for her diligence, perseverance and achieving excellence in her craft.

In great condition. Comes in the original box (the box has some damage).
