Ishimura Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Orizuru (21.5cm/8.6 inches)

This beautiful and colorful vintage creative kokeshi was made and signed by master Ishimura.

She is titled 折り鶴 (Orizuru) which means “Origami Cranes”. Cranes in Japan are traditional symbols of peace, hope and longevity. There is also a legend in Japan that if one folds 1000 paper cranes that person’s wish will come true.

In great condition with marks of age and use. Comes with the original wooden sign.
