This creative Kokeshi doll was made by Fumio Tomidokoro (1948-). Her title is 梅林 (Bairin) which means “Plum Grove”. Her kimono is decorated with white and red plum flowers, which are considered to be auspicious in Japan since they blossom first after the winter, hence they symbolize perseverance and hope.
In mint condition. Comes in the original box.
