Exclusive Creative Kokeshi Doll by Fujikawa Kazumi – Hinataboko (24cm/9.4 inches)

This sweet kokeshi doll was made & signed by the multiple award winning artist Fujikawa Kazumi (1951~).

Her title is 日向ぼこ (hinataboko) which means “Basking in the sun”. It refers to enjoying the warmth and light of the sun, often by sitting or lying in a sunny spot. This term is especially used during colder months when the sun’s warmth is particularly pleasant​.

She has charming pigtails, her arms folded and a sweet, gentle smile gracing her face. Her kimono is decorated with red and white plum blossoms.

In mint condition, comes in the original box with the original wooden sign.
