This beautiful creative Kokeshi doll was made & signed by Chiya Tomidokoro (1988-). She’s titled 翠 (Sui) which means “Jade Green” and “Emerald Green”. It refers to a bright, vibrant green color similar to the color of jade stone. It can also be used poetically to describe something beautiful or precious, much like the stone itself. Her kimono is decorated with a beautiful repeating pattern in gold and jade color. The same pattern also decorates her hair right under her cute pigtails.

Chiya Tomidokoro’s works are extremely detailed and for this reason they require a lot of time to be completed.

In near mint condition, comes with the original box.
