Kokeshi Doll Set By Hideo Ishihara Akatombo Red Mums (12-18.5cm / 4.7-7.2 inches)

Pair of vintage creative kokeshi by Hideo Ishihara. The left doll is decorated with red mums which symbolize love and deep passion. The right one is decorated with red dragonflies (akatombo) which is also the name of a famous Japanese children song from the 1920’s. The song is a nostalgic depiction of a Japanese red dragonfly seen at sunset by an infant being carried on an older sister’s shoulder.

In very good condition with signs of age and use.
