Tall Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Sekiguchi Toa (41cm/16 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toa (1942-).

Master Sekiguchi Toa was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken, and still lives and works there with his family, all of whom also create creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the Ministry of International Trade Industry Award in 1978. Since then he has won the Prime Minister’s Award, along with other respected awards. He is the son of the renowned kokeshi artisan Sekiguchi Sansaku.
