This unique kokeshi doll was made by Yuji Kawase who was born Gunma prefecture in 1938. Her title is 赤と黒 (Aka to Kuro) which means “Red and Black”.

She has two faces, one on the front in red and another on the back in black. They look as if they are hugging each other and they complete each other beautifully. The side of this kokeshi is decorated with asanoha pattern on one side, and red triangles on the other.

In near mint condition. Comes in the original box with the original wooden sign.
