Watanabe Yuji Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Reika (16cm/6.3 inches)

This beautiful vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Watanabe Yuji who’s considered to be one of Japan’s leading kokeshi artists today. He was born in Shiroishi city, Miyagi prefecture in 1951 and has been creating amazing kokeshi dolls for over 50 years.

She is titled 麗花 (Warabe) which can mean “Graceful Blossom”. Her red kimono has beautifully carved flowers and an auspicious asanoha (hemp) pattern.

In great condition, comes with the original wooden sign.
