Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Masashi Takeda – Nogiku (17.5cm/6.9 inches)

Kokeshi doll vintage creative by master Takeda Masashi titled “Nogiku” (野菊) which means Asteroideae/Wild chrysanthemums and you can see the carved flower decorations around her body.

Master Takeda Masashi was born in Yamagata prefecture in 1930 and won many prizes for his works. His kokeshi dolls has a unique style, with rich dark wood tones and carved flowers. He barely uses any paint to showcase the beauty of the natural texture of the wood used.
