Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Tanaka Harumasa (14cm/5.5 inches)

This vintage creative Kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Tanaka Harumasa (1916) who was a very influential artists in the beginning of the sousaku (creative) kokeshi movement in the early 1950’s. Harumasa san used a beautiful piece of keyaki (zelkova) wood for this doll which shows in its grain and warm color.

This kokeshi was originally purchased back in 1979 as inscribed on the bottom of it.

In very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
