Set of Vintage Creative Kokeshi Dolls by Isao Sasaki (27cm/10.6 inches)

A pair of vintage kokeshi by Sasaki Isao. They are decorated with blossoming plum trees. In Japan the plum is the first tree to blossom after winter and it represents perseverance, good fortune and the long-awaited coming of Spring. It’s also believed that it wards off evil and hence it can be seen sometimes around temples & shrines.

In very good condition with minor marks of usage and age.
