Miyashita Hajime Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Hana no Kaori (14cm/5.9 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll by master Miyashita Hajime (1940-). Her title is 花の香り (Hana no Kaori) which means “The Scent of Flowers”. She has adorable pigtails and a cute kimono with flowers in red and white. Her black obi adds a nice contrast.

Miyashita Hajime is a multiple award winner master who was born in 1940. The current Japanese emperor and empress are fans of him and used to collect his dolls. In 2006 he retired after his kokeshi shop burnt down in a fire.

In great condition. Comes with the original wooden sign.
