Miyashita Hajime Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Cold Spring (12cm/4.7 inches)

This vintage creative kokeshi doll was made by master Miyashita Hajime (1940-). Her title is 寒い朝 (Samui Asa) which means “Cold Morning”. She’s wearing a lovely red kimono with a scarf wrapped around her head.

Miyashita Hajime is a multiple award winner master who was born in 1940. The current Japanese emperor and empress are fans of him and used to collect his dolls. In 2006 he retired after his kokeshi shop burnt down in a fire.

In great condition. Comes with the original box.
