Kobayashi Inosuke Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Miyabi (36.5cm/14.3 inches)

This vintage kokeshi doll was made by master Kobayashi Inosuke (1931-2000). Her titled is 雅 (Miyabi) which means “Elegance” and “Grace”. Her kimono is magnificently decorated in patterns of green, red and natural wood color.

Kobayashi Inosuke (1931-2000) was born in 1931 in Gunma prefecture and won multiple awards for his kokeshi dolls throughout his life, including winning the prestigious Prime Minister award in 1979. His dolls are usually tall and elegant featuring natural wood colors combined colorful kimonos.

In great condition with signs of age and use.
