Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Kobayashi Inosuke (35.5cm/14 inches)

This vintage creative kokeshi doll was made & signed by Kobayashi Inosuke (1931-2000). She’s wearing a lovely decorated and carved kimono featuring auspicious plum flowers as well as a colorful obi in shades of green, orange and yellow/natural wood color.

He was born in 1931 in Gunma prefecture and won multiple awards for his kokeshi dolls throughout his life, including winning the prestigious Prime Minister award in 1979. His dolls are usually tall and elegant featuring natural wood colors combined colorful kimonos.

In great condition with minor marks of age and use. Comes with the original wooden sign.
