Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll made by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). Her title is わらべ (Warabe) which means “Child”. She’s wearing a red kimono decorated with a abstract flower carvings as well as a colorful obi in blue, green and yellow.

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In great condition. Comes with the original box.
