Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Kazuo Takamizawa – Red Camellia (18.5cm/7.3 inches)

This vintage kokeshi doll has a kimono featuring big and beautiful red camellias and a very stylish hairstyle. Made and signed by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~).

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In great condition with marks of age and use.
