Kazuo Takamizawa Vintage Kokeshi Doll (24cm/9.4 inches)

This Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). She’s wearing a black kimono with big red flowers and a dark green obi (kimono belt).

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In great condition with signs of age and use. Has a small scratch on top back of the hair.
