Iwasaki Nobue Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Komori (20.5cm/8 inches)

This lovely and surprisingly bulky kokeshi doll was made by Iwasaki Nobue. She’s titled 子守 (komori) which means “Babysitting”. It shows a mother or perhaps an older sister carrying a young baby on her back and the baby is taking a peak from above her shoulder. The wood used has a beautiful pattern that is visible all around the doll.

In great condition with minor signs of age and use. Has a scratch on the right cheek. Unsigned.
