This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is むらさき (Murasaki), which means “Purple”. She features a light purple, almost pink kimono with a green dots and a red obi (kimono belt). Her hair ornament features a kanoko dotted pattern.
Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.
In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
