Ichiko Yahagi Creative Kokeshi Doll – Ayaka (15cm/5.5 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is 美弥 (Miya) which is a girl’s name. She’s wearing a kimono in black and yellow with colorful pinwheels (Kazaguruma in Japanese). She has beautifully carved hair with a red ribbon decorated with white dots.

Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
