Creative Kokeshi Doll by Ichiko Yahagi – Mio (13.5cm/5.3 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). This doll won an award in the All Japan Kokeshi Contest. Her title is 澪 (Mio) which is a girl’s name. Her kimono has a beautiful colorful pattern all around it and her hair is decorated with a cute red ribbon with kanoko pattern.

Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box as well as the award winning certificate.
