Creative Kokeshi Doll by Ichiko Yahagi – Hatsune (8cm/3.1 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is 初音 (Hatsune), which is a girl’s name. Her kimono is a real work of art with plenty of details and patterns. Yahagi san combined the Asanoha pattern in her front, a green obi and a beautiful red and black floral kimono. Her hair is decorated with flowers.

Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
