Vintage Creative Kokeshi Doll by Master Yokoyama Teruo – Mari Chan (9cm/3.5 inches)

This sweet kokeshi doll was made by Teruo Yokoyama (1953-2005) who was an extremely talented artist who sadly passed away at a rather young age.

Her title is Mari Chan (まりちゃん) which both means “rounded” and is an endearing way to call someone who’s named Mari (chan often used to kids and girls names). Her red kimono is decorated with sakura (cherry) flowers and the same flowers also show on her cute red hair ribbon.

In great condition with minor signs of age and use. Comes with the original box & wooden sign.
