Kazuo Takamizawa Vintage Kokeshi Doll (26.2cm/10.3 inches)

Japanese vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). She’s wearing a light green kimono with carved camellia flowers and a golden obi (kimono belt).

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In good condition with signs of age and use.
