Sekiguchi Toa Vintage Kokeshi Doll (18cm/7 inches)

This bulky vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toa (1942-). She’s made of warm toned keyaki (zelkova) wood and has a kimono featuring red camellia flowers.

Master Sekiguchi Toa was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken. His brother, Toshio, also makes creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the Ministry of International Trade Industry Award in 1978. Since then he has won the Prime Minister’s Award, along with other respected awards.

In very good condition with signs of age and use.
