Yuko Yamazaki Creative Kokeshi Doll – Itoshigo (20cm/7.8 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Yuko Yamazaki (1956-). Her title is 愛し子 (Itoshigo) which means “My Beloved Child”. Her kimono is decorated with a dotted kanoko pattern, sakura flowers, yellow flowers and chidori (plovers) which are considered to be auspicious and symbolize harmony, family safety and perseverance.

Yuko Yamazaki was born in 1956 and learned the art of kokeshi dolls from master Yoshida Takashi. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In great condition. Comes with the original box and wooden sign.
