Ichiko Yahagi Creative Kokeshi Doll – Saya (16cm/6.3 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is 咲耶 (Saya) which is a girl’s name. She’s wearing a stunning and intricate light peach colored kimono with a repeating square pattern in black and white, as well as fireworks decorations in black, red and turquoise. Her orange obi shows both on the front and back.

Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
