Blue Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Yoshino Ikkyo – Sisters (15cm/5.9 inches)

This beautiful doll was made by Yoshino Ikkyo who was born in 1928 in Saitama prefecture, north of Tokyo. His dolls are famous for being octagonal. This one is part of a pair that is titled 姉妹 (shimai) which means “Sisters”. The other doll is red and can be found here.

Her hair beautifully flows along her dark blue kimono which is decorated with white flowers.
