Masashi Takeda Vintage Creative Kokeshi Doll – Yukiguni (29cm/11.4 inches)

This vintage creative kokeshi doll was made & signed by Takeda Masashi (1930~). She is titled 雪国 (Yukiguni) which refers to the northern, snowy regions of Japan which would explain why she’s wrapped in a warm coat from bottom to the tip of her head.

Master Takeda Masashi was born in Yamagata prefecture in 1930 and won many prizes for his works. His kokeshi dolls has a unique style, with rich dark wood tones and carved flowers. He barely uses any paint to showcase the beauty of the natural texture of the wood used.

In great condition. One mark on the body.
