Yuko Yamazaki Creative Kokeshi Doll – Akaimi (21.5cm/8.4 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Yuko Yamazaki (1956-). Her title is 赤い実 (Akaimi) which means any fruit or berry that are red. This beautiful doll is holding a basket full of strawberries. She’s wearing a lovely blue kimono with simple floral decorations and a yellow strip & blue apron.

Yuko Yamazaki was born in 1956 and learned the art of kokeshi dolls from master Yoshida Takashi. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with the original box and wooden sign.
