Yoshida Takashi Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Yunagi (36cm/14.1 inches)

This beautiful vintage creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Yoshida Takashi. Her title is 夕凪 (Yunagi) which has a very unique meaning – in the coastal areas of Japan, daytime winds often arise from the temperature difference between the land and the sea. Around sunset, these winds weaken (and even stop) creating a quiet, calm and motionless sea. This peaceful moment is called Yunagi. Her stunning kimono is in shades of gold/green and it’s beautifully decorated with birds flying with clouds in the sky and the sea in the background.

Yoshida Takashi is a renowned creative kokeshi artist and has won several top prizes in Japan for his amazing and skillful works.

In great condition with minor marks on her hair. Comes with the original wooden sign.
