Vintage Kokeshi Doll Set by Yamanaka Sanpei – Early Spring (23.5cm/9.2 inches)

This vintage kokeshi doll set was made and signed by master Yamanaka Sanpei (1926-2012). Their title is 早春 (Soushun) which means “Early Spring”.

Yamanaka Sanpei has won over 20 awards for his kokeshi dolls including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. Sanpei’s inspiration for kokeshi doll designs often come from children.
