This beautiful vintage kokeshi doll is titled 惜春 (Sekishun) which means “Lamenting The Passing of Spring”.

Yamanaka Sanpei has won over 20 awards for his kokeshi dolls including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. Sanpei’s inspiration for kokeshi doll designs often come from children.

In good condition with signs of age and use. Comes with the original box. Has a tiny hole on the side of the hair (towards the back) the size of a needle/pin.
