Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Sekiguchi Toa (15cm/5.9 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toa (1942-) wearing a floral kimono with a yellow obi (kimono belt).

Master Sekiguchi Toa was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken. His brother, Toshio, also makes creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the Ministry of International Trade Industry Award in 1978. Since then he has won the Prime Minister’s Award, along with other respected awards.
