Takahashi Hashime Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Kaga no Yosoi (34.5cm/13.6 inches)

This beautiful vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by Takahashi Hashime. Her title is 加賀の装い (Kaga no Yosoi) which is means “Kaga Clothing”. This phrase refers to traditional clothing and art from Kaga prefecture, which is an area in Japan known for its rich kimono art and textile production. Kaga, which is now part of Ishikawa Prefecture, is famous for its Kaga Yuzen dyeing technique, which produces beautifully intricate patterns on fabric, often used for kimonos.
