Yamanaka Sanpei Vintage Kokeshi Doll (17cm/6.7 inches)

This vintage kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Yamanaka Sanpei (1926-) who won over 20 awards for his kokeshi dolls including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. Sanpei’s inspiration for kokeshi doll designs often come from children. She has a simple design with stripes in dark green and dark red along the body, and a dark red stripe around her hair.

In great condition with marks of age and use.
